There’s no welcome to the majors quite like 6-foot-6, 285-pounds running through you at the plate. In his third game in the bigs, Indians prospect catcher Carlos Santana (not the singer, and he wasn’t smooth here) was drilled by Adam Dunn at home plate on an RBI single with no throw even coming home.

Check out the train wreck at the link below. Obviously Dunn wasn’t trying to hurt Santana because he was just as shocked he ran into him as Santana was. Neither player was looking at each other, but I’m sure the rookie will think twice next time about standing at home plate when the throw isn’t coming.
